The realization of Belene NPP project will be delayed by a year or a year and a half as a result of German RWE`s decision to give up on the project, the upcoming competition for a consultant and project`s restructuring. It is still unclear whether project`s executor AtomStroyExport will file any compensation claims.

Galina Tosheva, executive director of the Bulgarian Energy Holding (BEH), commented that the change will give a change for reexamination of project`s concept and groundwork.
