Russian group Atomstroyexport has warned of rising costs and potential disturbances in the construction schedule for nuclear power plant Belene unless Bulgaria signs speedily an amendment to the building agreement. The agreement was signed in November 2006, while the amendment relates to the supply, volumes and cost of the equipment to be delivered this year.
The additional provisions in the agreement between the Russian company and the Bulgarian National Electric Company (NEC) aim to ensure that work on the project remains uninterrupted even in the event of unconfirmed financing.
