Police authorities and prosecutors in Bulgaria`s town of Pleven have discovered the brutal murder of a 4-year-old girl, whose raped and bruised body was found at a suburban dumpsite in November 2006.
The grandmother of Mihaela Barakova, Margarita, was officially charged with the killing. She confessed she had committed the crime while under the influence of alcohol and some medicines that made her mad about the child`s behaviour in the fatal day.
The elderly woman then hit her granddaughter against a wall to break her skull thus killing her on spot. Then Margarita, 54, caused some vaginal bruises with a hard object so that the police consider it a rape, explained the monitoring prosecutor on the case Iskra Ganeva.
The grandmother has not been immediately put behind bars as the court decided she would not try to hide or commit a crime. Except, she has to take care of another grandson, whose mother has been hospitalized.
The small victim Mihaela Barakova lived in an orphanage in Pleven and the grandmother was the only person, who sometimes took care of her. The child went missing on November 13 2006. Her dead body was found two days later.
Immediately conducted investigation and some profiles pointed at a psychopath as the most probable murderer. Overnight a lonely-living man was arrested as suspect for committing the brutal crime.
