The project for the construction of NPP Belene has been given the green light. The final talks on the project`s development and financing and the supply of the necessary equipment for the nuclear power plant took place on November 5 in Sofia between the management of Atomstroyexport and their colleagues from Bulgaria`s National Electric Company (NEC).

As a result, Annex No.5 to the agreement for the construction of NPP Belene from November 26, 2006 was signed. The agreement reads that the Russian company is responsible for the manufacturing and the supply of the power plant`s equipment. On the Bulgarian part, the document is signed by NEC CEO Lyubomir Velkov and Executive Director Mardik Papazyan.
