Nikopol ferryboat complex was granted a permit for use

In Sept. Nikopol ferryboat complex was granted a permit for use, the building works started on 26 Jan. 2005. The project was financed by PHARE programme for trans-border cooperation Bulgaria - Romania, financial memorandum 2002. It amounts to EUR 6.2m, of them for construction works EUR 4,999,872, for consulting services - EUR 261,900. One third of the funding is from the state budget.
The general contractor is Patishta holding with subcontractors Marsen Ltd. - Pleven, Eurosteel - R - Pleven, Palmo - Pleven, Power Engineering - Pleven, and Dalia - Pleven. The building supervision was carried out by Patinvest Engineering - Sofia. The master plan for regulation of the border checkpoint and the ferryboat complex was prepared by the National Centre for Territorial Development with leading architect Kamelia Kirova - Peshunova, the technical design was prepared by Transproekt - Sofia.
The first class road from Pleven to Nikopol that was to be completed in March 2009 has been included in the programme by PHARE - transborder cooperation Bulgaria - Romania, memorandum 2004. It has been stopped as one of the 10 projects with cancelled European funding. The contractor is Trace Group, consultant is the French company Safege.
