Olt-Pleven, a Bulgaro-Romanian cross-border commercial centre, will be developed jointly by Industrial Association-Pleven and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in the Romanian city of Slatina. The agreement was signed on January 24 in Bulgaria’s Pleven.
The project will be financed by the PHARE programme, Vesselin Yotkov, executive director of the Pleven Industrial Association, said on January 23.
At the outset they will carry out a comprehensive feasibility study and a detailed architectural plan of the development, which will cover a 10ha plot on the bank of Olt river at the entrance of Slatina town (Olt district).
The complex will offer space for offices, conferences and exhibitions as well as for retail units and will provide information on joint Bulgarian-Romanian enterprises.
Olt-Pleven is intended to meet the needs of small and middle-size enterprises in both countries, to assist NGOs and local authorities and promote opportunities for intensified economic collaboration in line with European legislation, Yotkov commented.
It is the sixth project between Industrial Association-Pleven and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Slatina after the PHARE programme for cross-border cooperation in EU, he noted.
