Biggest Wine Museum to Open in city of Pleven

"The biggest wine museum is slated to opening in Kailaka", Plamen Petkov, owner of the wine cellar "Chateau Kailaka", announced at the official opening of the "Best European Sommelier 2008" competition. The museum will be located in one of the caves of the famous picturesque site and park in the town of Pleven.

The cellar museum will display 6000 bottles of mature wines aged from 30 to 100 years and 4000 bottles of wine from all wine producing regions in Bulgaria.

According to Petkov and to Pleven`s Mayor Naiden Zelenogorski, the museum will turn into one of the biggest tourist attractions of Bulgaria.

At he official dinner dedicated to the beginning of the "Best European Sommelier 2008" competition held in restaurant "Moscow" in Sofia, the sampled wines included: Villa Rustika cuve of Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc 2006, from "Chateau Kailaka", Villa Rustika cuve of Merlot and Cabernet 2006 "Chateau Kailaka", Emporion cuve of Mavrud and Cabernet 2006 from Malka Maritsa, Mizia Traminer 2006 from "Chateau Kailaka", Mizia Cabernet 2005 from "Chateau Kailaka".

According to Eric Zwiebel, France`s best sommelier for 2007 and Jivko Jeliaskov, second place winner in the "Best Bulgarian Sommelier" completion, the wines are full, well balanced, and with big potential on the world market.
