Stara Zagora Airport’s activity is to be restored. After a decree of the Council of Ministers from December 21, 2012 the airport is ownership of Ministry of the economy.
From the beginning of May looking for the most appropriate investor is to start. The idea is the second European logistics hub (cargo airport for freights and passengers) between the European Union and Asia to be constructed there.
The airport’s runway is 2,550 meters long, while adjacent areas are about 6000 acres.
Transforming Stara Zagora Airport in an international transit hub will have a capacity for loads of 150 000 to 250 thousand tons, 2 runways, that are to serve Boeing 747 and Airbus 380 million passengers per year.
