The Canadian company Euromax Resources Ltd. has found considerable gold deposits near the village of Babyak, Blagoevgrad District. The reef of gold has been explored in depth of 500 m to 1,300 m, and, together with the other industrial minerals, the samples have been tested in a certified laboratory. Euromax has a concession contract for the region, covering an area of 101 sq km, some 80 km away from Sofia.
Euromax Resources Ltd. has been actively prospecting the field over the last 12 months, having made four vertical wells within the past two months to study the mineralisation of rocks. In the past, the area has been studied for presence of molybdenum and silver.
The corporate message makes it clear that the Canadian company has ensured a budget for future exploration of the field in 2013. This will be carried out both near Babyak and Zlataritsa where the rocks are expected to be of a similar mineralisation.
