Bulgaria`s international Sofia Airport plans to expand its terminals, taxiways and bus stands aiming to increase its capacity. 

Sofia Airport will finance the investment with its own funds, said the company`s executive director Vesselin Peykov. He did not provide details about the size of the investment. Peykov added he hopes the expansion projects will be ready by the end of the year, after which the airport will hold public tenders to hire construction companies.

The total annual passenger flow at Sofia Airport`s two terminals is 4.4 million passengers.
