Amer Sports Bulgaria expands its ski factory in Chepelare

Bulgarian ski manufacturer Amer Sports Bulgaria will start a three-year expansion of its factory in Chepelare, in the south of the country, worth 7.8 million levs, the Economy Ministry said.
With the expansion Amer Sports Bulgaria, which is part of Finnish sports goods manufacturer Amer Sports Corporation, will increase the factory`s annual production to over one million pairs of ski and will create a hundred jobs by 2013, the ministry said in a statement.
The company`s goal is to make the factory one of the global leaders with a 15-20% share of total ski production, the statement quoted senior company official Stefan Leberbauer as saying. By the end of next year Amer Sports Corporation will have invested a total of some 40 million levs in the factory, Laberbauer added.
The factory employs 600 people.
