Svishtov-based baby pap maker Slancho launch new production

Bulgarian baby pap and cereal snacks maker Slancho, based in the northern Bulgarian town of Svishtov, will launch the manufacture of baby purees, the company said. The new production department, which will create 10 to 15 jobs, will go on stream by the end of 2011, with construction and assembly costs estimated at some BGN 700,000, the company`s investor relations manager, Dessislava Aleksandrova, told.
The company has already kicked off the procedure for choosing the contractor for the project, while the provider for the needed equipment will be selected at a tender, Aleksandrova said. Slancho, which made its debut on the bourse in Sofia in 2008, recorded a 6% annual decline in profit to BGN 1.03 million for the first nine months of 2010, while revenue came in at BGN 3 mln, down 3.5% in annual terms.
