Construction workers blocked Novo Selo range close to the southern city of Sliven at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, Zdravko Dichev, a representative of the protestors’ initiative committee, told.
21 Bulgarian firms from Southeastern Bulgaria blocked the passes to the military base. Burgas-based company Dolomit M, a former partner in the Bulgarian-German consortium with Belfinger Berger, hired them as subcontractors. The firms have to be paid BGN 3,8 million.
The contracting authority of the tender is U.S. engineering corps. Dolomit M says the Germans did not pay all money for the work done, which caused the problem and brought the Bulgarian construction firms to bankruptcy.
