The Belovska basilica is one of the best preserved early Christian temples in Bulgaria.
It is situated in the beautiful northeast slopes of Rodopa Mountain. It became an important spiritual center after its foundation in the 6th.
In the 17th it was destroyed by the Ottomans during the great converting to Mohammedanism of the villages near the town of Velingrad.
Today the place is still respected, that is why next to the old basilica a small church, was built.
