152 packs of heroin seized at the Kapital Andreevo Checkpoint

Customs inspectors seized 78.860 kg of heroin at the Kapital Andreevo Checkpoint (on Bulgaria`s border with Turkey) around 4 a.m. on Saturday. The value of the consignment is 9,875,000 leva at costs applied for the administration of justice, but its black market price is much higher, the Plovdiv Regional Customs Directorate said.
The narcotic, distributed in 152 packs, was found hidden into an expressly designed false bottom of a German-plated Citroen Xsara Picasso, which entered Bulgaria en route from Turkey to Germany. The driver, H.A., 37, holds dual Turkish and German citizenship. He was accompanied on the journey by another Turkish national, I.P., 34.
A written statement of customs violation has been drawn up, and the case has been referred to the competent authorities.
More than 330 kg of heroin in nine hauls have been seized at Kapitan Andreevo since the beginning of the year.
