Belgian wind power developer Electrowinds has earmarked BGN 106 million for the construction of a 30 MW wind power project in Bulgaria. The project set to spring up on a site between the coastal city of Burgas and Aytos, eastern Bulgaria, will be completed in 2011, said Lozan Stefanov, executive director of Electrowinds Bulgaria.
The scheme earned the company a first-class investment certificate, which will enable it to benefit from fast-track administrative support.
The Belgian firm is looking at ways to generate electricity from used vegetable oil and animal fats and has set its sights on solar energy, too. Its portfolio includes projects scattered in Italy, France, Romania, Poland and other European markets.
