The new eco paths and mountain tracks in the region of the upper Arda River bank have attracted tourists to the region.
Yagodinska and Diavolskoto Gurlo caves are two of the most visited sites in the region. The Smolyan lakes also rank among the favorites of tourists.

Some of the villages near the resort of Shiroka Luka face problems concerning their accommodation capacity and availability of restaurants. These problems limit the number of visits to the villages.
