According to hotel owners in the coastal town of Nessebar, the prise of a beach umbrella in the resort is as much as 30 leva, Focus news agency reported. Hotel owners and touroperators have asked for an emergency meeting concerning the high fees that the concessionaire of the local beach is demanding from tourists. Tourists have already started complaining.
Representatives of the tourism sector are concerned since most of them are lowering prices in order to attract visitors. Such beach fees can only chase away visitors in the conditions of a crisis.
During the summit, tourism sector representatives decided to turn to the commissions for the protection of competition and of consumers. A meeting with Regional Development and Public Works Minister Asen Gagauzov will probably be scheduled, as well.
