Pomorie Balneohotel won the sixth edition of Building of the Year contest, organised by Bulgarian-language Stroitelstvo Gradut weekly and held on December 10 at Ivan Vazov National Theatre.

A total of 59 developments took part in a competition that included varied categories: residential buildings and complexes, business and holiday hotels, golf complexes, public buildings with business functions, commercial and industrial buildings, buildings with special functions/entertainment and sports facilities. Among the contest criteria are innovation and uniqueness in design and/or concept.

The contest was established in 2002 by Stroitelstvo Gradut weekly under the auspices of the Ministry for Regional Development and Public Works with the support of architecture and construction industry organizations. Its main goal is to acknowledge the achievements of Bulgarian architects, developers and investors in eight different categories.

The jury was presided over by Mityo Videlov, head of the National Expert Council with the Ministry for Regional Development and Public Works.
