Belogradchik Rocks reach second place in New Seven Wonders ranking 13 February, 2009. The rocks moved up to second place in the category "Caves, rock formations and valleys", just ahead of the Grand Canyon.

Tourists in Belogradchik can vote for the rocks at the new municipal info center, town mayor Emil Tsankov informed. Belogradchik Rocks are a cause that has the power to unite all Bulgarians throughout the world, he added.

If the rocks were selected as one of the seven wonders of the world the international media would make a lot of reports about Bulgaria. This would be good for our country and our travel sector.
