The investors will pay for parking lots building, says Veselina Petkova - Ilieva, the new chief architect of Burgas. She was appointed at this position as a result of its impressive ideas and concepts for the development of the city. She suggested not changing the adopted detailed urban plans for at least five years thus coping with the chaotic and violent construction.

This restriction was a part of the Spatial Planning Act texts in the beginning but were abandoned during the discussions and as a result currently the law provides for changes in the plans even starting five days after their adoption. At least ten years is to be valid the ban on changes of the plans to give the initiative the opportunity to be implemented.

Another idea of the new chief architect is to issue a special ordinance regulating the parking lots and garage construction in Burgas thus providing enough parking space. The new facilities will be mainly underground under public municipal zones - squares, green areas, schoolyards. This opportunity exists since July 2007. The city will have to have its clear strategy, the neighbourhood villages are very suitable for living, the territory is clean with no noise, dust and pollution. But those zones need the relevant infrastructure to guarantee the proper living conditions for their inhabitants, and this is a problem that can be solved through the efforts of planners and the local administration.
