The five-star St. Thomas Hotel Complex located close to the Arkutino Beach of the Black Sea resort of Sozopol was opened Friday night.

The Glavbolgarstroy Company is the investor and executer of the project. The unique feature of the complex is that fact that it is equipped with its own facility for the purification of waste waters worth BGN 4,5 M, which channels the purified waste waters one nautical mile into the sea.

No cars are allowed within the St. Thomas Complex. Only electricity-driven automobiles will be used within it. The architecture of the resort complex is a combination of the traditional Bulgarian Sozopol-style house, and modern constructions.

The five-star hotel has 49 double rooms, ten apartments, and one presidential apartment. It also has a restaurant, pastry shop, medical cabinet, kindergarten, jewelry store, fitness, spa, and a covered swimming pool. The residential part of the complex includes four-storey buildings with two or three apartments per floor.

The opening of the complex was attended by several hundred people including politicians and businessmen. The pop stars Mariya Ilieva, Mariana Popova, Vasil Petrov, and Orlin Goranov sang at the opening.
