Sozopol municipality has opened for tourists. Panayot Reysy, mayor of Sozopol, assured that all the beaches would be accessible to tourists this summer. Some of the hotels, which were built right on the beach, fence in certain parts of the beach for their guests as part of all-inclusive packages.
This is in violation of the law, but local and national authorities didn’t reach an agreement on jurisdiction for years. The most shocking example is Dune hotel complex, owned by the indicted businessman Luydmil Stoykov. The beach outside Dune was completely inaccessible, complained tourists last summer. Sozopol municipality is ready for the season, Reysy declared.
There will be no barriers in the Ancient City of Nessebar this year. Over BGN 2 million was invested in infrastructure: the roads were reconstructed, the sewer system was improved, and streetlights and surveillance cameras were installed.
