The union of owners in Bulgaria`s Sunny Beach resort are demanding guarantees for nature protection following construction of the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline.  that will conduct Caspian oil to Greece. They fearful that its construction will cause reap a devastating ecological effect on the Bulgarian seaside.

Russia must guarantee that the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline will not spoil Bulgarian Black Sea resorts, they said.

Chair of the union Elena Ivanova told reporters that Russia should also engage in "a powerful and positive advertisement campaign" to boost the number of tourists coming to Bulgaria`s shores.

According to hoteliers, Greece has already secured a guarantee along these lines. 

The hotel managers` demands came a day after the end of Russian president Vladimir Putin`s visit to Sofia (January 18), a trip dominated.
