In the last days of its administration the government decided to sell at auction with secret bidding Аirport Targovishte. The reason is that unnamed private investor is interested in the property on which the airport is located, and considers developing other activities on it.

The area of the facility which was closed to traffic in 1998 has an area of nearly 944 decares. The property will be sold together with the constructed airport building and its one-storey massive building for technical maintenance. The site is a separate part of Plovdiv Airport JSC.
