Bulgaria Unemployment Rate Down to 6,79% in March

Bulgaria`s unemployment rate has continued to decline reaching 6,79% in March. The figure was announced Wednesday by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Emiliya Maslarova in the city of Yambol in the eastern part of the country.

Maslarova emphasized the fact that the trend for the declining unemployment in Bulgaria continued. She said the qualifications of the labor force now became problematic, and that is why the money for this purpose in the Ministry`s budget had been increased by 72%.

The Labor Minister also announced that the number of persons on state unemployment benefits had gone down by 23%, and that only 22 300 persons out of formerly 88 000 continued to be employed under the Ministry`s special programs.

Maslarova visited the center for mentally disabled elderly persons in the village of Malenovo, and social integration and rehabilitation center in the town of Straldzha, Yambol District.
