Italian bottle-top maker Guala Closures opened a 2.0 million euro plant in Kazanlak, in southern Bulgaria, the local authorities said. The new plant spreads on 10,000 square metres and will create more than 300 jobs, the Kazanlak municipality said. The plant was built by Guala Closures Group and its subsidiaries Guala Closures Bulgaria and Guala Closures Tool, the municipality said.

878 boxes of cigarettes without excise labels have been seized Friday and Saturday on E-80 main road in the region of Svilengrad , press centre of the District Police Directorate of Interior - Haskovo announced. The smuggled cigarettes were found in Fiat car driven by A.M. (29) from the town of Kazanlak and in Opel car driven by M.T. (47) from the town of Svilengrad.

In 1996 three Thracian tombs from the Shushmanets Necropolis were discovered near the town of Shipka thanks to the sponsorship of the Helvetia foundation, Switzerland. The tomb from the Griffins` hill is the most preserved stone beehive tomb, used in V-IV century B.C. as a mausoleum. The two-leaved door has been broken during the plundering of the mold.
