Austrian do-it-yourself chain bauMax said on Tuesday it opened two hypermarkets in Bulgaria - one in the port city of Varna
and the other one in Ruse
, on the Danube. The company invested around 10 million euro in each store, bauMax said in a statement.
The new stores have an area of 12,000 square metres each and employ a total of 210 people.
"Over the last five years we have invested over 100 million euro in Bulgaria. So far, we have created over 600 jobs and we intend to make them thousands in the coming years,
" Martin Essl, chairman of the management board of bauMax Group, said in the statement. BauMax entered the Bulgarian market in 2008.
In addition to the two latest additions to its network it has hypermarkets in Plovdiv
