Redirected airline flights left 140 Bulgarian nationals in the international airport of Romania`s capital of Bucharest instead of Sofia
, Darik reports Sunday.
An EasyJet flight from London to Sofia
with 140 on board had to land in Bucharest instead of Sofia
, due to the uncleaned landing tracks of the Bulgarian airport. Passengers told the media they were given no explanation prior to the actual landing.
The Bulgarian nationals also claim they haven`t been provided hotel rooms to stay or busses to drive them back home and that airport authorities in Romania repeatedly gave them false promises that buses are coming. Some of them already left for Bulgaria by their own means or called in relatives from Sofia to drive them back.
Earlier today another EasyJet flight, from Madrid to Sofia, left its passengers in the North Greek city of Thessaloniki.
