Vassil Bozhkov`s empire is about to acquire a port. The bulky businessman has won over his major rival - Hristo Kovachki in the bidding for the port of Lom on the Danube although he offered a smaller bid of 165 million levs against Kovachki`s 185 million levs (1euro - 1.95 levs).

Kovachki`s bid will not be assessed by the tender committee in Bulgaria`s Ministry of Transport because it lacks a business model, the investments are conditional and the envisaged future repairs being vaguely stated.

Before that the Bulgarian-German consortium Progress M - Hamburg Port Consulting that offered 200 million levs was called off. Thus Vassil Bozhkov remained the only bidder for the concession of the port. He is in cooperation with Kremikovtsi Trade of Pramod Mittal. The steelworks are the main client of the port.
