The Varovitetz waterfall is located in the northern foot of the Cherni Vrah summit, in the Etropole part of the Stara Planina mountain, about 4 km away from the town of Etropole . It occupies an area of about 0.3 hectares. The turbulent waters of this impressive natural phenomenon fall down from a height of about 15 m. The official public holiday of the town of Etropole ( South-western Bulgaria ) is celebrated on the same day as the Christian holiday of St. Pavel and St. Peter, since 1927 when Bulgarian king Boris III unveiled the memorial for those citizens of Etropole who died during the wars (1868 - 1918).
