Several cable thieves shot at Transport police officers in a chase near Bulgaria`s Sarantsi railway station on Tuesday. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The criminals have been caught red-handed while stealing conductors and iron ropes. They still managed to escape, taking more than 500 meters of the wires, which broke the train traffic regulation in the line between Stolnik and Sarantsi stations. The faults on the line have been fixed in time but the value of the damages caused is set at about BGN 25,000. The investigation on the case continues. |

| A training aircraft slipped out of the runway while landing at the Lesnovo airfield at 9.28 on Friday. The pilot trainee was not injured, the Ministry of Transport announced. The aircraft sustained damage. A special commission of the Ministry of Transport is expected to arrive at the scene to investigate the incident. |

| The first sod of what is planned to become the largest doors factory on the Balkan Peninsula was turned Tuesday in the Bulgarian town of Elin Pelin located close to the capital Sofia . The Solid 55 Ltd Company is investing about EUR 30 M in the factory, which will have a production area of 14 500 square meters, and will employ 100 local people.
