Three procedures for prospecting of oil and gas will be started - in Unit 1-8 in Altimir, Block 1-7 in Tarnak and Block 1-6 in Pelovo. The duration of permits for prospecting will be 5 years. The government has also authorized the conclusion of amendment to the concession contract for the extraction of copper-porphyry gold ores of the deposit Elatsite, concluded with Elatsite-Med JSC. The Canadian Mining Group Dundee Precious Metals and the Bulgarian State are going to build an installation for the manufacturing of end metal products from ore, Alex Nestor, Chief Manager of the "Investment Projects" Department at the Chelopech mine reported. The installation, which will manufacture gold, silver and copper, is valued at USD 160 M. The agreement could be signed as early as the end of March.

The Bulgarian government is engaged in negotiations with the concessionaire of the Chelopech gold mine in order to increase state fee by 10%, and to get a bigger share in its exploitation. This was announced in parliament on Friday by the Bulgarian Economy Minister Petar Dimitrov.
