Bulgaria Princess Kalina and husband Kitin Munoz baptized Wednesday their little son Simeon Hassan in a chapel they built in Tsarska Bistritsa palace (situated in Rila mountain near Borovets resort). Princess Kalina gave birth to the boy on March 14 last year and named it after her father, exiled king Simeon II. Kalina`s baby is the 11th grandchild of Simeon Saxe-Coburg (strangely enough, none of his six grandsons had been named after him so far). Shortly afterwards, however, Kalina sprang a surprise by announcing her newborn baby will have Hassan added to the name in honour to the late king of Morocco. |

| The controversial ski lift that will run between the Pionerska and Rilski Ezera lodges in the Rila mountain national park will be operational this summer, said Rila Sport, the company building a ski resort in the area. Despite the protests from environmentalists, Rila Sport claims the ski lift has been issued a legitimate environment impact assessment albeit 10 years ago. The investor is adamant that the resort will bring no harm to the Rila national park. |
