Sofia: Bulgarian Energy Minister Petar Dimitrov took part in an emergency joined meeting of three Parliamentary Commissions stating hope that the gas supply from Russia to the Ukraine would resume in the next few days. The meeting was focused on the current natural gas crisis.

The first topic was the reactivation of one of the Units of the NPP Kozloduy in the light of the endorsement of such measure by Geoffrey Van Orden and several other Members of the European Parliament. The measures undertaken by the Cabinet were also discussed, with one of them being the expansion of the gas storage facility in Chiren.

Dimitrov further offered some numbers related to industry losses due to the gas crisis. He said that his Ministry was closely monitoring about 152 companies, who have reported losses in the amount of BGN 23 mln so far.
