Bulgaria`s capital city of Sofia will launch three 24 hour bus lines starting May 1st, the Center for City Mobility chief, Nikolay Kostov, announced Wednesday. Business: Begins construction of new Technopolis store in Sofia`s Nadejda quarter

Despite the financial crisis the local electronics retailer Technopolis will break ground today on its third store in the Bulgarian capital Sofia . The hypermarket will be located in Nadejda district and will have 3,500 sq m of retail space. It should open doors in October 2008. Technopolis already has 2 stores in Sofia in Mladost 4 and Lyulin districts. The total number of company stores across the country is 21 and they are located in 20 different towns of Bulgaria.

Piccadilly, the Varna -based supermarket operator, will open on December 23 its 17th store in Bulgaria. The unit will occupy a 1,200 sq m area in Sofia ’s Mall Samokov shopping centre. The company has pumped BGN 800,000 into the project hoping for more than 2,000 shoppers a day. In the meantime, German REWE Group’s Billa supermarket chain, will open on Monday a supermarket in Sofia ’s Mladost 4 residential district expanding its network in the capital to eight stores.

Two men have died during a serious traffic accident between a truck and a car in Sofia .
