The Bistritsa Monastery St. Petka is located in the Kalugerovi Livadi district on Vitosha , in the northwestern outskirts of the Bistritsa village, and rises some 15 km away from Sofia . The monastery was constructed in 10th century, but like most of the Bulgarian monasteries it was destroyed during the Ottomans` invasion in 14th century.
