For the period to 2013 by different transport programmes BGN 1.41bn are earmarked for the road network in the Southwestern region . From Transport operational programme for Struma highway have been planned BGN 1.174bn, by Transit Roads V - BGN 181m, by the World Bank project - BGN 55m.
