Japanese company Aqua Farm will build a geothermal power plant in Sapareva Banya , in southwestern Bulgaria. Aqua Farm and the municipality of Sapareva Banya signed on Tuesday an agreement to set up a 66/34 joint venture named Aqua-Germanea to build the geothermal power plant. The financial crisis has made property investors turn away from the mountain resort of Panichishte , Darik Radio reported. A tender for the sale of plots in the region failed due to the lack of interest. This is the first land sale attempt over the past seven months. Two new ski tracks will be constructed in the mountain resort of Panichishte , Darik Radio reported. Sapareva Banya municipality has received a permit from the municipal council concerning the execution of the project. Municipal advisors excluded two plots from the forest terrain of the municipality. These will be used for the setting up of a reservoir for tap water and a purifying station. Sapareva Banya’s municipality also approved a project for the setting up of a water-conduit.

The lift to Rila Lakes hut is already functioning, dnevnik.bg reported. Environmental coalition For the Nature will address the Prosecution concerning the facility, which according to environmentalists is illegal. No ecological evaluation has been received and part of the lift is located over a landslide. 108 police officers will be sent to winter resorts in Bulgaria, Commissar Tomi Iliev from General Directorate Security Police said in an interview for FOCUS News Agency. A total of 60 policemen from the regional directorates of Plovdiv, Pernik and Stara Zagora will be sent to Bansko from December 1st till March 31st.

The conditions in the mountains are not suitable for tourism, the Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service warns. It`s cloudy, with heavy wind in the high parts. The temperatures this morning were -5 to 2C. The Bulgarian Mountain Rescue Service does not recommend long walks, especially in the mountains high parts. The worst weather conditions are in Vitosha , where in the high parts the wind is very strong. It`s very cloudy on "Cherni Vrah" peak. And the temperatures are -3 to 0C.
