One of Bulgaria`s most popular monasteries, the Rila Monastery , is going to construct a small hydro power plant in order to get a new reliable electricity supply. The entire cost of the project - a EUR 2,9 M grant - is provided by the "Kozloduy International Fund", and will be administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Rila Monastery has finished the renovation of its hotel part, Bulgaria News Agency reported. Plots were returned to Rila Monastery , after which it was able to launch the renovation works. Tourists can now enjoy a comfy trip to the Rila Monastery, by a train the former Department for Security and Protection used to transport the communist nomenklatura. Now it is a tourist attraction and the first to try it were Spanish tourists who paid about 60 euros to have a trip to Bulgaria`s past.
