Hladka Bania region near Kresna will be turned into an attractive tourism landmark that will attract both Bulgarian and foreign tourists. Kresna municipality is launching a project that targets turning the region into a popular place. Currently, the region is polluted and plants there have not been taken care of. Funding for weekly maintenance will be provided. The project receives funding from the national program for cleaner environment launched by the Environment Affairs Ministry.

A new electric power station will be build up in Kresna, informed radio “Geia". The station will produce electricity by converting the sunlight into electric power. This project has been developed by a local company. Now Kresna Municipality has to give up a terrain and the construction works can begin. The Municipality is going to receive around 500 000 leva per year from this project.

A total of three people died instantly in a heavy crash in a tunnel in Bulgaria`s Kresna gorge on Friday night. About 3 am a Volkswagen Toureg veered into the opposite lane and crashed headlong into a truck in the tunnel, police reported. The reason for the incident was high speed. The three victims were all travelling in the SUV. A fourth passenger in the Volkswagen survived and is currently in a hospital along with the driver of the truck, who was also hurt. Police have closed the tunnel and traffic is currently redirected toward bypass roads.
