Over 30 tourism sites in the winter resort of Bansko violate copyright laws and lack contracts for the public airing of music pieces.

Inspectors from the copyright directorate of the Culture Ministry inspected a number of sites in the resort. According to their calculations, Bulgarian and foreign musicians are losing annually 120 000 leva from the illegal airing of their production in Bansko.

According to the law, each public airing involves the payment of fees. The money collected is distributed between composers, text authors, managers and musicians. The fee is based on the category of the tourism site.

Violators, who cannot provide an agreement for the usage of musical products, will be fined with a sum between 300 and 3000 leva.
