Officials at Bulgaria`s Lesovo border check-point averted an attempt for smuggling gold, seizing jewels with a total value of BGN 80,000 on Wednesday. The precious objects have been hidden in a secret box, placed in a car, driven by a 27-year-old man. The smuggler was arrested immediately after the authorities found the jewelry. That was the second such crime attempted on Bulgarian territory in the last three days. A total of 70 kilos of gold and 15 kilos of silver were seized at a customs officials` raid on Sunday. |

| 65 170g smuggled gold ornaments and 10 987g silver have been seized at Lesovo border checkpoint, Customs Agency told. The smuggled shipment is at the amount of more than BGN 3 million. The gold and silver were fenced in a special secret place in a driver’s cabin of a truck with Ukrainian license plate. The truck was traveling from Turkey to Romania and declared only 970 packages of textile. After a check customers’ officers found the secret place in the cabin and pull out 36 boxes which contained a total of 76 157g gold and silver jewelry. |

| Bulgarian customs officers at the Lesovo border checkpoint with Turkey seized late Friday a total of 40,000 ephedrine pills from a Bulgarian car. Police reported that the car was driven by a 21-year-old man from the city Stara Zagora , who was coming from Turkey. | 40,000 tablets were seized in a special police operation carried out in the area around Lesovo border checkpoint, spokeswoman of the police in the town of Yambol Katya Nyagolova announced. The tablets were found in an Alpha Romeo car with a Bulgarian license plate driven by a 21-year-old Bulgarian who was coming from Turkey. | The cupola of a tank, produced by Maybach, was stolen from the place the machine had been dug in at the Bulgarian - Turkish border, police reported Tuesday.
