| The municipality of Plovdiv city (second largest Bulgarian city, after Sofia ) will obligate local traders to change the polyethylene bags with ecological paper bags that will open up for a period of 10-18 months. | After almost 24-hour search by the Police Department in Kotel the bodies of the 8 and 10-year-old brothers who had drowned near the town were found, the Regional Police Department in Sliven informed. The kids were going home without their mother and frowned in a water basin used for irrigation near the village of Yablanovo. No trace of violence was found on the bodies. An autopsy and forensic medicine expertise will be made. |

| A unique scheme for cleaning riverbeds had been developed in Sliven, Mayor Yordan Lechkov said for Radio FOCUS – Sliven. The administration had granted no money however for the purpose. The deal was a kind of barter. The company would cover the expenses for cleaning of the rivers. The contract was signed with the Ministry of Environment and Waters two years ago. The beds of two rivers crossing the city would be cleaned, this however did not resolve the problem with the rivers crossing the villages. According to Mayor Lechkv apart from the cleaning of the riverbeds measures had to be taken to prevent consequences of snow melting and sudden high river waters. |
