The municipalities of Burgas , Kameno , Karnobat , Nesebar , Aitos , Sredets , Pomorie , Sungurlare and Ruen have come together to build a regional facility for the disposal of household waste. The design of the new waste site, to cover an area of 2.7 ha, takes into account the rapid development of the Southern Black Sea coast. The waste site project will be tabled for a public discussion. The Burgas regional environment directorate is preparing an impact assessment for the facility.
A viaduct over Burgas lake will help the traffic, design teams proposed nine scenarios for the city ring road. The location of Burgas is very special due to the lake and the sea and it does not allow for the construction of a classic ring road. In the same time the streets have no more capacity while the cars grow with 1,200 to 2,000 per month according to data of the traffic police.
