The coastal town of Chernomorets (near Sozopol ) is suffering from the lack of sufficient number of tourists, dnevnik.bg reported. Though the summer season has officially started, the number of tourists remains low. More visits are expected in the end of July. Chernomorets turns into a primary destination when Sozopol’s accommodation capacity is fully utilized.

No concessionaires have been found for 43 beaches in Bulgaria due to the high concession prices, expert.bg reported. New owners have been found for a period of five years for the beaches in the resorts of Elenite, Smokinite South and North, Zlatna Ribka, Chernomorets camp, Kozlouka and Ravda. Due to the lack of concessionaires, the beaches will not be guarded though the summer season has started. The lack of concessionaires will leave many qualified lifeguards jobless. These people are expected to seek employment abroad.

Bulgarian seaside resorts are enjoying increased interest from Latvian and Lithuanian holidaymakers, a hotel and restaurant industry association said.
