| A bomb exploded Thursday night in a residential building in Bulgaria`s coastal city of Burgas , breaking most of the glasses and doors in the entrance, where the explosion took place. The local referendum that took place on Sunday in the Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Sozopol on the planned construction of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis Oil Pipeline is invalid as fewer than the required 51% of the eligible voters cast their ballot. The Chair of the Municipal Electoral Committee Desislava Zhilkova said before the Bulgarian private Darik Radio that the voter turnout in the municipality was about 39,9%. Some 47,8% voted in the town of Sozopol itself. The 11 800 eligible voters in the Sozopol Municipality had to answer with "yes" or "no" to the question "Do you approve the construction of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline?" The exact results from the ballot have not been announced yet. |

Local referendum pro and con Burgas - Alexandroupolis pipeline takes place on Sunday, April 6 in the coastal city of Sozopol. The citizens will respond to the question: Do you approve the building of Burgas -Alexandroupolis oil pipeline? The people with right to vote in the municipality are 11,800. There are 20 election sections. The voting day started at 6.00h this morning and it is expected to end at 19.00h. We remind you that the previous referendum about the pipeline took place in Burgas city in February. The results marked 27% activeness of voters in law barrier of 51%. |
