The Ranuli Fortress stands on a peak Vulchanovo Kale on the right bank of Ropotamo River, near village of Bliznak ( Malko Tarnovo municipality ). It is situated some 18 km southern from the town of Sozopol . The remains of the fortified wall surround a vast area – about 30,000 square meters. The fortified walls - quite well preserved, and made of huge perfectly whittled down stones, has embraced one of the biggest fortified towns in Bulgaria.
