| The Portuguese concession of the Trakia Highway seems to be history. The road will be built by Bulgarian companies and the price will be twice cheaper than the one negotiated between the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha cabinet and the Bulgarian-Portuguese consortium Magistrala Trakia JSC. The real-term price of the construction is 2.3 or 2.5 million euro per kilometer. | The police in the Bulgarian town of Burgas stopped a ship from being cut into scrap after they questioned the actual name and identification numbers of the vessel. According to its documents, the ship’s name was Nakrae and it had been sailing under Ukrainian flag. But the border police recognized the ship as a Turkish vessel, named Erdal Karaer, included in the list of suspected vessels of the International Black Sea border coordination center in Burgas. The check, conducted by police showed that there was no such ship in Ukrainian registries. |

Bourgas-based rail car producer TransWagon Holding won a 50 million leva deal from ArcelorMittal, the world`s biggest steel maker, Dnevnik daily reported on May 12. Under the terms of the contract, TransWagon will build 540 noise-free and extra-long cargo platforms over the next two years and a half. The platforms are 25m long, with a cargo capacity of 62 tons and will be used by Luxembourg railways. The enterprise currently builds three other models of cars for the German railways - Edos, Falns and Ref. TransWagon specialises in making cargo cars, platforms and specialised cargo cars, which allow mechanized load and unload. |
