The Orphic mysteries celebrations in Trigrad will be held for the second year in a row. The new eco paths and mountain tracks in the region of the upper Arda River bank have attracted tourists to the region. Yagodinska and Diavolskoto Gurlo caves are two of the most visited sites in the region. The Smolyan lakes also rank among the favorites of tourists. Some of the villages near the resort of Shiroka Luka face problems concerning their accommodation capacity and availability of restaurants. These problems limit the number of visits to the villages.

30 000 tourists visit the preserve of Shiroka Luka each year, the village`s tourism information center said, In July and August the number of visitors was highest. Shiroka Luka`s accommodation capacity is sufficient for 500 visitors at a time. One of Shiroka Luka`s landmarks is Uspenie Bogorodichno church that was constructed over 38 days in 1834. The musical school Shiroka Laka is another major landmark. Tourists are attracted to it because of the unusual architecture style.
